eCom Abbreviations

There are numerous abbreviations gets used in the eCommerce industry day and night and so everybody already doing eCom and getting into it should know these short words and their meanings to avoid head-scratching moments again and again!

General eCom Abbreviations

  • eCom – eCommerce / electronic commerce
  • Dropshipping – Selling products to customers directly from the supplier.
  • POD – Print on Demand
  • Testing – Testing if a product or Ad can sell
  • Scaling – Increasing no. of Sales
  • Winner – The Ad or product got profitable
  • AOV – Average Order Value
  • TOS – Term of Services

Facebook Ads Abbreviations

  • Advert – Ad / Advertisement
  • Pixel – Facebook code to track on-store conversions & activities.
  • Interest – Personal interests of an audience you want to target
  • Targeting – Selecting some criteria for the audience to reach
  • Audience – People whom you want to sell your goods
  • Campaign – A group containing one or multiple Ad sets
  • Ad Set – In Ad set you select targeting criteria and your audience
  • Ad – Advertisement copy which people see
  • CPC – Cost per click
  • CPM – Cost per 1000 Impressions
  • ROAS – Return on Ad Spend
  • ROI – Return on Investment
  • Relevance Score – Score shows how related your audience and Ad is
  • Positive Feedback – Your Ads are getting positive response from Audience
  • Negative Feed – Your targeted People are not liking your Ad and probably reporting it
  • VC – View Content
  • ATC – Add to Cart
  • Lead – People in your list
  • Sale – Purchase on your online store
  • Catalog – A combination of your selected products
  • Frequency – How often you want to show Ad to one person

Advanced

  • Abandoned Cart – People initiated the buying process but didn’t complete the purchase.
  • CA – (Custom Audience) A set of a saved or defined audience.
  • LLA/LAA – (Look-a-Like Audience) People similar to one of your Custom Audience
  • Retargeting – Reaching the audience from your custom audience
  • Remarketing – Selling to your already marketed audience
  • Upsell – Selling another product or quantity of the same product person bought
  • Downsell – Selling an alternative product at a lower price when a person declined to buy your product.

These are words an eCom marketer read, speak and hear a lot so I think this will help people to know the meaning of short words they didn’t understood completely.
